Wine Country

Guidebook: Introduction

Welcome To Wine Country!

Often affectionately referred to as a modern-day Eden, Northern California’s Wine Country is beyond doubt the most famous winegrowing region in America. The geographically striking swath of land is home to hundreds of wineries — some stunning, some simple, many simply over the top — that produce wines proven to stand proudly alongside the top wines of the world. And while Napa’s stellar reputation was inarguably built on the merits of its elegant Chardonnay and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon, many other grapes call the valley home and thrive in its fertile soils.

There are a few things you should know when choosing which winery to visit in Wine Country. Every winery is different. Some have a minimum purchase requirement. Some do not take large groups. Some are more for the experience than for a collector. All of these important pieces of information will allow us to set you up with the perfect tastings.

Wine Country is also famous for its world-renowned top chefs and their restaurants. They are so numerous here that it really is hard to go wrong with a breakfast, lunch or dinner choice. However, when planning for your trip, keep in mind that parties of eight or more, regardless of how much notice we give the restaurant, typically are only offered times of 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m.

There’s more to Wine Country than just wine tasting and wine tours! Take a bicycle ride through the vineyards or see the majestic valleys from a ride in a hot air balloon. There are also many exclusive, romantic and luxurious spa options throughout Wine Country, including in-home spa services that many Members have enjoyed. Whatever you desire, the Wine Country has endless options for couples, groups of friends and families!
